My name is Sierra. I am a junior this year at OSU. I have been playing the violin since age three. Through out high school, I taught violin under the supervision of Music Magic in Ashland, OR. Now that I am here in Corvallis, I would like the opportunity to once again, bring music into the homes of children. I have performed in two orchestras, been featured in three plays and have studied under world renowned violinist Sheri Kloss. In addition, I have attended many Suzuki workshops and have performed solo many times over.
Suzuki is my teaching method and what this entails is parental involvement, playing by listening (then slowly adding the element of reading, just like one would learn to speak, then read), enforcing good posture now (to help lessen fatigue), and simply listening to music in their day to day life.
It is my belief that music enlightens ones soul and I hope to have that chance to share with your children.
