So, I'm an 18yr old bassist, guitar player (mostly bass), (and some didgeridoo) nothing crazily good or professional, but I don't have trouble learning anything really. I'm very creative musically and can write lyrics, but don't sing. Anyways, since all of my friends are nonmusical lame-asses, looking for some laid back guys to jam/make music with... you know, start out casual, steadily get more serious, or not-whatever. Maybe eventually do some shows, who knows. I'd like to have a band that is in/close to Corvallis (OSU) and that's pretty close in age. If we must label this as a genre, then it would likely be Industrial/Metal/Alternative. My biggest influences are Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, Tool, Guns N' Roses, A Perfect Circle, and Stone Temple Pilots... but there's tons more. The gear I've got is an Epiphone Les Paul w/ 75W (don't be deceived by low wattage) Line 6 Spider III amp, Acoustic Ovation guitar, Epiphone Les Paul bass w/ 90W Behringer bass amp, Acoustic 5-string JBP bass, a new 17" Macbook Pro, a Yamaha USB audio interface for computer recording, and some effects pedals and such.

Wakerobin Storage has them.
They are basically a few soundproof rooms constructed within the existing unit.
As long as I've looked into them, they've always been occupied.
I've got the dough to build make another one happen @ Wakerobin.

I'd like to recoup some of the upfront money though, so my question is this:

Is there enough interest by local bands to rent the rooms by the month?

Okay, I'm just throwing this out there to see if there are any other obsessive Ween fans around that think this might be something that could work. Now, I'm not necessarily wanting to do this to entertain people, it's more to embrace my love of Ween, but I think that people would dig this sort of thing. I'm a mediocre acoustic guitar player, love to jam and sing Ween tunes, and I know somebody else out there has to be on the same page. I'm a single, full time dad (I have a 7 year old that loves the Boognish) so I don't have a ton of time to pour into a project like this, but if this sounds remotely interesting to you, shoot me a line, and we can at least Yak it up and bounce some ideas off each other.

Logic Pro 8 system, MOTU 828 MKII recording interface, Shure, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Audix, & Electrovoice microphones, Biamp Systems 1221 Mixing Console. I'm capable of tracking an entire band - up to ten tracks simultaneously at high digital resolution (96khz, 24 bit) if desired. 2 extremely isolated spaces and 3 moderately isolated spaces within studio, which means you can track up to 5 separate sound sources at once with very minimal bleed-through. Base rate for recording is $30/hr which includes engineer and studio, however I do offer significant full-day and multi-day discounts, so please contact me if you're interested in finding out more about those. I have a small selection of professional instruments available for recording use. I also do live recording, at $10 per microphone per hour. Tours are available upon request.

I'm looking to start a brass quintet (or larger ensemble) right away. Holiday music to start (tis' the season, after all), but there will be more material and original compositions in the future. I'll be spending the next few days looking for a rehearsal site and gig hosts, holiday gigs will most likely be unpaid, but tipped. I would really like to get a rehearsal in before the end of the week, even if the ensemble is not fully formed by then.

Open Positions:

Trumpet (Piccolo and/or Flugelhorn if possible)
French Horn
Euphonium/Trombone (both preferred)
Tuba

So Im thinking of starting a SIMPLE grage band.. I have a guitar, amp, drum set (pos but it works) and a bass amp but no bass. Im decent at guitar and I can sing pretty good. I would need a drummer, a bass playa with a bass, and a PA. I do have a big basement to play in also.

SIMPLE covers or originals like Misfits, Nirvana, Dub, punk, stoner, Beatles..blah. As long as they are easy and sound good.

Im kinda old (27) but Im really just a kid I guess. Im not looking to become a rockstar and dont even care if I play live. For now just jamming and having a few beers would be cool. So let me know what you think! C ya

Children's Violin Teacher (OSU)

My name is Sierra. I am a junior this year at OSU. I have been playing the violin since age three. Through out high school, I taught violin under the supervision of Music Magic in Ashland, OR. Now that I am here in Corvallis, I would like the opportunity to once again, bring music into the homes of children. I have performed in two orchestras, been featured in three plays and have studied under world renowned violinist Sheri Kloss. In addition, I have attended many Suzuki workshops and have performed solo many times over.
Suzuki is my teaching method and what this entails is parental involvement, playing by listening (then slowly adding the element of reading, just like one would learn to speak, then read), enforcing good posture now (to help lessen fatigue), and simply listening to music in their day to day life.
It is my belief that music enlightens ones soul and I hope to have that chance to share with your children.

Free Portraits for Musicians! (Corvallis)

Hey, I�m an art student doing a photography project, and I�m looking for musicians to pose for portraits.

I�m trying to document the relationship of musicians and their instruments, so I�m looking for musicians of all ages (and all instruments!) to pose or to play for me. I�m primarily looking for one-person shots: just you and your instrument, basically. But I�m also cool with photographing bands, jam sessions, or groups of musicians. I want some variety to this project, so just tell me what you've got and I'll work with it.

I�m flexible on locations- if you have a garage band, I�ll totally come to your garage. If you like to play on the street, I�ll meet you downtown or something. I�d like to get a range of backdrops, so I�ll shoot in fields, parks, houses, garages, businesses, wherever works the best.

In exchange for your time, you�ll receive a CD of photos from the shoot- totally free of charge.
