Bookkeeper for a busy Early Education Program that has an emphasis on hands on learning thru play. This company is committed to doing the best job they can to help children enter kindergarten self confident and ready to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Accounts Payable/Receivable:
*Review vouchers and match with invoices and payment authorizations.
* Process invoices utilizing the Fund EZ software by accurately coding according to general ledger and
payment authorization
*Prepare checks for signature and file supporting documentation.
*Maintain and balance cash disbursements journal.
*Audit and correct insurance/benefit billings, process premium payment
*Process premium payments for employee benefits (COBRA)
*Ensure accuracy and balance in all accounts.
*Calculate, process and insure distribution of paychecks utilizing the computerized ADP payroll system
*Generate, audit and maintain files of all payroll activity, following required retention schedules for all payroll
related documents
*Verify ADP tax reports and submission
*Review ADP time cards, follow up and report any discrepancies. Forward various reports to the HR
Coordinator, Director and Executive Director.
*Insure wages are paid in accordance with wage and hour laws.
*Prepare reports as requested for insurers such as SAIF Corporation.
*Prepare monthly retirement worksheet and submit payment.
*Record Keeping and Reporting:
*Prepare monthly financial reports and financial status reports, as requested by the Financial Coordinator
*Prepare audit reports/assemble required documentation as requested by independent auditors
*Maintain all records in a confidential manner in accordance with the program confidentiality policy.
*Prepare monthly general ledgers and distribute to Coordinators and Kitchen Managers.
*Skills and Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and minimum of one year experience in full cycle
bookkeeping. Fund EZ experience preferred
*Strong computer skills to include: word processing, spreadsheets, accounting software, e-mail and internet.
*Experience with ADP payroll strongly preferred
*Thorough knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and fund accounting.
*Knowledge of wage and hour laws
*Strong organizational, recordkeeping and time management skills.
*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, staff and public.
Job Details:
*Hours: 20 - 25 a week
*Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 9am -1pm (could be flexible some)
