I used the air conditioner regularly in Maryland until 2018, but sporadically after moving to Oregon in June of 2018. My landlord installed a heat pump with air conditioning 2-3 years ago, so it has not been used since then.
I was very happy with this appliance. It cools well and its quiet. It cooled my medium sized living room plus the kitchen in Maryland and my large living room and kitchen in Oregon.
The User Manual says that it “is designed for installation in standard double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 22” to 36”. The upper and lower window sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 13” from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool.”
