For the person who loves beautiful rare wood/unusual and a conversation piece desktop This was a gift from a friend in 1993 who acquired this when living in the Redwood Forest in Northern California. My ex husband carved the gingko on the right side. I have kept it dry and inside ever since in my living room. There is no mold or mildew on it. When I received it, it had been kept dry as well and inside. This has been my favorite treasure and have kept it with me until now after six moves since 1993, but have been downsizing my possessions and this one is too heavy for me to pack around. Also saving for a car. I have gotten lots of compliments on it by people who have a good eye for cool treasures! Not sure how old this is but can say it is ancient possibly from an old growth maybe 500 year old tree burl.
