Finally ready to part ways with my 2005 F-350 XLT Super Duty 6L diesel 4X4 extended cab. With over 550,600 miles on it there hasn't been any grass growing under this truck.
If you're looking for a parts truck, this one has a lot to offer.
What's good:
The transmission, it's second, is so much stronger than the original! Shifts great and running strong! All new shocks put on in March.
The entire front end is great. Two new hubs, redhead steering gear box, tie rod ends and ball joints. It drives like a new truck. The
cab, both doors, hood and front fenders are all in good condition. Color code AQ. Both bumpers are good, just a little shy of perfect.
Tail lights and heated, power adjust side mirrors are all in good working order. The truck has never been wrecked so the frame is good and straight and has a Super Hitch receiver for a truss trailer hitch extension and camper tie downs. Price as pictured is $2800.
If you want to make a project out of this and put more miles on it, here's what isn't so good:
The motor starts great and runs good most of the time. Once warmed up it won't re-start likely due to a problem in the High Pressure Oil Pump. When it doesn't run good it hesitates and smokes. Likely a problem with the EGR system and or turbo. It uses about a half gallon of oil every 10,000 miles. The top front corners of the bed are broken out from a tool box and the tailgate is damaged and
hard to open. The ABS system no longer works and is disabled. The brakes work great and have a lot of life left. The driver's seat could benefit from a trip to an upholstery shop. The instrument cluster is about ready for a re-build.
If you want to take this on as a rehab project, there are some extras available. I have a set of XD wheels with Toyo M-55s that still have several thousand miles left on them, a matching Gem Top steel, cab height canopy, a GOOD tailgate and a 36" truss trailer hitch extension. The price for the truck and all the extras is $4000.
I've owned this truck since it was new and have been it's only driver so I should be able to answer any questions you might have. I
also have all the receipts for any work that's ever been done to it. Best way to reach me initially is by text. Thanks
