Job Titles: Certified Child Care Teacher/Site Leader
Immediate Openings: Part-time AM and PM shifts for Certified Child Care Teachers/Site Directors; substitute, temporary and permanent part-time positions available
Work Location: Any of our seven Elementary School Locations in the GAP School District in Albany
Job Description: Includes but is not limited to: assisting with providing safe, structured, quality childcare for elementary age children by increasing opportunities for children to benefit from constructive activities supervised by responsible adults. This reduces the number of children alone or in poorly supervised situations during non-school hours
Job Requirements: Includes but is not limited to: Must be 21 years of age or older to apply. Due to state childcare regulations, applicants must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, have or obtain a current First Aid, CPR, Food Handler certification, and obtain a Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training certificate as well as an Introduction to Child Care and Safety training certificate within 30 days of employment. Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from the job site with the availability to work at any of the seven Albany site locations. Position requires 15 hours of continuing education in child development training annually. Applicant needs the ability to display a positive attitude towards children, staff and parents with good communication and listening skills
Minimum Qualifications: An AS/AA college degree with a major in child development, physical education, recreation, special education, early childhood education, or related degree; a one year state or nationally recognized credential; combination of qualifying education and qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center; two years of qualifying teaching experience with at least one year being in Certified Child Care Center; OR documentation of attaining at least step 8.5 in the Oregon Registry
Work Hours: Split Shift times vary a few minutes depending on the site location:
AM Shift: 6:30 - 8:45 AM and/or
PM Shift: 3:20 - 6:00 PM
Monday through Friday, including some non- school days
