This desk is built to last. It is made out of solid oak, with heavy-duty sliders that hold each drawer rock solid even at full extension with a heavy load. The lowest drawer on each side is extra deep, and sized to fit a frame for hanging file folders. There are two reversible pull-out boards to add even more desk space for your most ambitious projects. The drawer bottoms are lined with an antique newspaper print design, adding to the classic feel. There is a lock cylinder on the middle drawer, but the key was sadly lost to time before I obtained it from the original owner. The drawer is unlocked and could easily be rekeyed.

The desk surface is thankfully removable, making it much easier to maneuver through doorways. With as solid and sturdy as this thing is, you will want to remove the drawers and bring a friend to move it.

It has minor wear, but the finish is still great. I hope I'm in half as good a shape when I, too, am old enough to collect social security. Even with heavy-duty use, this thing will outlive your grandchildren.
