Welcome to Jenny’s Happy Hog Farm!! We specialize in HAPPY, HEALTHY, HERITAGE pork! We are a farrow to finish operation, meaning we have the pigs from birth to the “one bad day on the farm”. We love our pigs and are grateful to see our passion come to fruition for our customers.
At our farm, we focus on producing NATURAL pork. We DO NOT vaccinate, administer any antibiotics or give our hogs hormones. Our piglets are born on dirt, which means they don’t even get iron shots! We strive to keep everything as natural as we can and have had great success so far!!!
While our hogs are out in the pasture eating the grass and rooting all kinds of things out of the dirt, our hogs are also fed the finest feed, milled LOCALLY in Jefferson, OR. We plant a garden for them too, so they are supplemented with all kinds of squash, pumpkins, zucchini and whatever else I decide to plant each year.
Our choice of hog breeds (Hereford and Berkshire) comes from a couple different things: we want maternal mothers who are also docile with humans (as we interact with our pigs daily). The color of Herefords and Berkshires generally gives a red or black color which helps protect the pigs from sunburn when they are out and about in the fields. We want to provide our customers with QUALITY MEAT! These breeds grow slightly slower than commercial hog breeds, but it is worth the wait. The fat to meat ratio is excellent and the flavor is wonderful!!
Our hogs are processed through Farmer’s Helper in Harrisburg, OR. They are a professional mobile slaughter business that comes to our house and dispatches the animals and then take them back to the shop where they will cut them however you would like.
A $100 non refundable deposit will save you a 1/2 share. This money will be used towards your final bill towards the purchase of your pork.
