-Location: Corvallis primarily and occasional travel to Portland during holidays & Summer -Mileage reimbursed (Oregon)

🌻 Client Bio: "This family is seeking support for a bright and motivated young adult with Autism who is attending college where supports will be provided. The client is highly capable, social, and enjoys being active in the community. Support is needed to help build independence, strengthen academics, practice social skills, and assist with communication when emotions become challenging.
Client travels home for holidays and summers - The home is a welcoming and positive environment located in Portland, close to parks, the library, and local shops. Both parents are engaged, professional, and committed to collaborating closely with a caregiver who is confident working with youth who may experience frustration, difficulty self-advocating, or occasional emotional dysregulation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys encouraging growth, fostering life skills, and building supportive connections.

🌻Responsibilities:
• Create a positive learning environment, including supporting academics, social and life skills
• Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
• Build good, open communication with children, families and community
• Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior
• Ensure the safety of the teen is always kept in mind while providing a fun, engaging and clean, hygienic and safe
• environment.
• Help develop teaching goals specific to the client
• Undertake administrative tasks, including regular communication with parents and professionals as needed
• Support a licensed teen in driving to activities and play sessions, which may include other teens during a hangout session or to other activities.
• Swim, walk, bike and/or participate in movement activities to keep client engaged and not indoors when it's nice outside, including pet dog for walks and playing with him in the yard.
• Help encourage other activities, especially when screen time is limited.
🌻Qualifications:
• Experience working with Special Needs Children, specifically highly functioning Autistic children
• Must communicate early, openly, and completely and include sound written and verbal communication skills
• Punctual, Trustworthy, and Responsible
• A good understanding of working with teens and college students
• Computer Literacy for operating Ipad, TV, Phone, etc.
• Must be willing to fulfill at least a l year time commitment, preferably longer.

-CPR and First Aid certified or willing to get certified
