POSITION: Plant Technician

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities for this position include operating and maintaining complex landfill gas collection systems, assist in the operation and maintenance of a landfill gas-to-energy generation facility in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner, maintain compliance with all applicable permits and regulatory requirements, fulfill contractual obligations, and maintain good working relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Monthly wellfield monitoring and adjusting.
2. Liquid level Measurements in Gas extraction wells.
3. Pneumatic Pump Cleaning/Maintenance.
4. Routine Blower/ Flare operations.
5. Condensate Management System Maintenance.
6. Downloading of wellfield monitoring data verification of NSPS compliance.
7. Performs facility inspections, maintenance and repairs of plant equipment.
8. Monitors and adjusts plant system controls to maximize performance and prevent equipment failure.
9. Responds to plant alarms to learn appropriate corrective action and execute plant shutdown and start-up procedures.
10. Maintains plant compliance with state and federal permitting requirements, complete all daily, monthly, or annual reporting per requirements.
11. Perform maintenance tasks as necessary (i.e. repair or replace worn or broken parts and equipment).
12. Perform administrative duties as necessary including daily, weekly, monthly logs and reports (i.e. unit conditions, maintenance, operations, performance, and downtime).
13. Maintains an inventory of tools, parts, fluids and other supplies for plant operations.
14. Orders/purchases materials and supplies as required.
15. Communicate and coordinate plant activities with clients (utility company and landfill personnel).
16. Assists other Company facilities as directed by management.
17. Completes all Company and regulatory training.
18. Strong commitment to safety and active participation in safety training.
19. Performs random security inspections and various security checks around the plant.

PLANT TECHNICIAN I & II:
The Plant Technician will be responsible for the duties listed above. The Plant Technician will be responsible for communicating with plant technician 2 on tasks & priorities and will direct the flow of work as directed from the manager. The plant personnel work as a team and communication between all members is vital, but in normal day to day operations the Plant Technician & II will work independently with the Plant Technician II being the go to person for decision making. If resolution can’t be found, then they should bring the manager into the decision making. If it is a safety issue, safety always comes first.



POSITION KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Successful completion of high school.
2. Ability to communicate effectively and develop effective working relationships
3. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
4.Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions and to do periodic heavy manual labor.
5. Ability to fulfill “on call duties.
6. Ability to work Saturdays.
