I foster for local shelters. The background of the most recent foster cat is a mystery. She was found on the street in dire condition, and needed emergency surgery to save her life. Was she a stray, or did somebody abandon her when she became "medically inconvenient?" Whatever the backstory, there was much that was new to her.

She has regained full health, and in three weeks she has become an affectionate, happy, very easy to live with, 100% indoor cat. The transformation has been something, and probably not complete. A reminder that when an animal is given a chance...

And a reminder to appreciate those of you that are trying to find - or provide - a good life for an animal.

Here's wishing that with the cold wet weather coming, all the animals here and elsewhere find warm, happy homes. And a bit early, but happy holidays to everyone here trying to help make that happen.
