I’ve included photos of the work I did to it. It was fully sand blasted this exposed the date code- 5/64. I have a photo of this. With the primer and paint I’ve since placed on the rim you can’t see this code anymore. After blasting I used rusty metal primer by Rustoleum, a few thick coats. Then semi gloss Rustoleum black. All sprayed from a gun. If the black isn’t your taste the rim has a great base , just scuff and shoot desired color.
I had a tire from the 1970s that is in great shape still, it’s a rather meaty tire and holds air great with plenty of tread. I had this put on at Costco with a new valve stem.
