My roommate of 2.5 years is moving out at the end of October, and it would be nice to have someone to split the rent with. The home is a duplex on acreage, large front and back yards, just east of I5 in Millersburg. I'm a 5 minute drive from the Albany Winco, but the property is bordered by farm fields on 3 sides. The road the house sits on sees a decent amount of traffic in the morning and evening, but it's very quite apart from that. The soon to be vacated room is about 12x16 feet, with a closet. There is a large single car garage for storage/projects, I own an old volkswagon that lives in the garage most of the time, but the garage is available for vehicle work, oil changes, etc. Large covered back patio, recently updated kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer in the garage.
The Rent is $1550 a month, so split two ways it's $775 a month. Utilities vary depending on how cold it is, baseboard heaters cost quite a bit to run in the wintertime, but the 2 year average for Power + Garbage + Internet is $248.59 a month, so about $125 a month average. Internet is 100 mb/sec radio internet, pretty reliable, my current roommate has used it for remote work with no issues.
The owner has a strict no pets, no smoking policy. The lease is year to year, I'm planning on signing another 1 year lease in January.
I'm 29, male, I work for a Forestry and Land Development firm as a Forester and Civil Engineer. I enjoy the outdoors, hunting camping, etc, reading, and working on various projects such as my VW Bus or antique typewriters. I'm not a partier, and keep somewhat irregular hours, due to wearing a lot of hats at work. I'm no neat freak, but my current roommate and I share housekeeping work and keep the place reasonable clean and tidy.
The landlord has a simple application & background check form you would need to fill out, I believe the cost for the background check is $40. He's a good landlord, maintains the property & lawn, and has always been quick to address any maintenance concerns.
If interested, give me a phone call at (five4one) seven1four-0540, or respond to this post with a message giving me some basic details on who you are, when you'd ideally like to move in, etc.
