Hi there!
My name is Sam, 30 y.o. (he/him/his) writing instructor at OSU and recent MFA grad— raised in Portland and recently returned to OR from nearly a decade in Montana. Due to landlord selling property, my dog and I are now in search of a new place to call home. What we’re hoping/looking for:
- a studio/small house (not apartment)
- a room in a house with mature folks (late 20s and up, grad students, working folks, etc.)
- or a group of interested folks willing to search/co-sign on a new rental
In the latter categories, looking for people interested in cultivating good living— folks who care about living together, caring for communal spaces, respecting the balance of the home. I believe where we live is where our “politics” begin and ripple from, and I’m interested in nurturing a compassionate, inclusive community that can prepare us for good, caring work in the world.
Seeking a quiet place to write, read, cook good food, paint, etc. Homemade music is great— I play a number of acoustic instruments— but not interested in living with a TV or other big stationary screens in the common area. In our free time, my dog and I love to go fishing and tromping around the woods.
Dog is a sweet, calm, non-destructive Bernese mix. He loves sleep, food, and fishing. Good with other kind-hearted dogs but not with cats or other animals. Sadly have to say “No" to non-canine pets.
If this resonates, please reach out with name, what you “do” in Corvallis, what you’re hoping for in a living situation/housemate. Ideally, I’d like to either find a space to live or interested prospective housemate(s) in the two or so weeks. My budget caps out at around $1,000.
Thanks!
- Sam
